Poland was thrown by Western allies to be devoured by German military machine (in WW2), lost its independence. Thanks to Soviet Union, thanks to position of Stalin (former Soviet leader), that Poland received significant lands in the West - Putin.

Putin adds that Western territories of today's Poland's are Stalin's gift to the Poles.
