Taking Refuge in Krishna - Part One

Bhagavan Sri Krishna is the avatara of Lord Narayana for our present age (the Kali Yuga). As Sri Dharma Pravartaka Acharya explains to us in this inspiring livestream talk, it is in taking refuge in Krishna that we may achieve liberation from illusion.

“I offer obeisance to Krishna, who possesses a form of eternity, knowledge and absolute bliss, whose every act is untroubled, who is the object of knowledge identified by Vedanta, and who is the guru, the witness present in the intelligence.” (Gopala-Tapani Upanishad, 1)

“There is but a single eternal amongst all eternal beings; a single conscious entity amongst all conscious beings; only one who fulfills the desires of the many. Those sages who meditate constantly upon Him, seated on His throne, shall attain everlasting perfection - others shall not.” (Gopala-Tapani Upanishad, 20)

“For those who are constantly engaged in worshiping this supreme abode of Vishnu, rather than their material desires, He immediately appears in the form of a cowherd boy and carefully reveals His own abode at that very time.” (Gopala-Tapani Upanishad, 21)

“Vishnu is He who at the beginning of the creation brought Brahma into being and then entrusted him with all knowledge. One seeking liberation should take refuge in that divine being who is the revealer of the spiritual intelligence by which one knows the self.” (Gopala-Tapani Upanishad, 22)

“I offer salutations to Krishna, the husband of the gopis, the master of the cows and cowherds. He is the embodiment of realized knowledge and possesses a form of supreme bliss.” (Gopala-Tapani Upanishad, 35)
