23-year-old Jadarrius Rose was driving a semi truck on I-35 in Ohio on July 4th when officers attempted to pull him over. They claim it was because his truck was missing a mud flap. Initially, Ross did not stop, but after a little while, he pulled over only to see cops exit with guns drawn. It’s easy to understand why a Black man might panic at the scene that’s taken so many of our people’s lives, and instead of putting his life in their hands, Love tried to drive off, only to be stopped by a spike strip.

With nothing left to do, Love decided to exit the vehicle, put his hands in the air and make it clear he wasn’t a threat. Seeing the situation, one officer began yelling at the K-9 handler not to release the dog, but instead of complying with the orders, he sicced the animal on Love instead. In the gruesome attack, the dog bit Rose continuously for 30 seconds before finally being stopped. Police then proceeded to handcuff the unarmed victim before administering first aid.

We join with voices across the country calling for #JusticeForJadarriusRose. The officer responsible needs to be fired and prosecuted, and Rose needs to be compensated for the physical and psychological trauma he suffered as his rights were violated for all to see.
