China’s Foreign Minister Qin Gang has been missing for 3 weeks. He is one of China’s rising top diplomats promoted on a fast track by Xi Jinping. His absence caused many speculations and rumors: from an extramarital affair to his mistress being a foreign agent to his political conflict with the top leadership. Beijing attributed his absence to health reasons. It seems that his disappearance is anything but health-related. It’s a sign of the CCP’s internal political struggle.
