Some adorn, their hope is strewn

Some are scorned and some are doomed

Holding back our tongues a lot now, some things need intervention
Odds are stacked as effort goes down, too cheap to pay attention
Overreact and lack the know-how, too passive and aggressive
Caught in the act of making a frown, too manic and depressive

Forget the former, climb the ladder
Shit performer, it doesn’t matter
Gossip storm served on a platter
Getting warmer, wallet fatter

Cruise in Teslas, chill in mansions, while others walk or rideshare
Give the rest of us expansion, denial of the welfare
Live your best and keep on dancing, you’re on your way to get there
Play to hecklers, time to cash in, you may walk different next year

Southern Cali or Wisconsin, on a plain midwestern
From the northwest or the mountains, maybe from the desert
From the beach or NYC, or rural place that’s less known
Middle of the country or maybe you weren’t homegrown
Muslim, Christian, indecision, separated by strife
In the army, into farming, prisoner or socialite
Big or tall or really small, fiancé or a new wife
Young or old, we fit the mold from all walks of life
