Why is #diversity Important on an Aircraft Carrier?

Captain Chris “Chowdah” Hill’s statement about diversity is this:

One of the things I love most about America is that we are crazy diverse. I think it’s beautiful.

We have people on this ship from dozens of countries from distinct cultures and who speak a ton of different languages and dialects.

It doesn’t matter where you’re from, what skin color you have, what your sexual identity or preference is - you are forged together as one crazy family of brothers and sisters in arms.

Our enemies have nothing like this - they don’t even promote diversity of thought.

With a team like we have today on the ship, how can we possibly lose?
