The power of Association in dog training

Everything in dog training is about association, your dog doing what you want the dog to do, by training the dog to do a behavior or allowing an existing behavior gets you that behavior.

If you want to stop a behavior you need to fully understand how to apply a punisher to instill an inhibitor to stop that behavior.

So knowledge is not enough in both scenarios, you need to understand how to apply that knowledge for the wanted results.

Simple concepts but not practiced very well for most, once you understand this your dog will then associate what you have trained your dog to do or not do and you will have the results you wanted.
