Artistic Repression, with Kelly O'Neal

Kelly is inspired by bold color, Mother Nature, and the human face. Her fixation on the face is connected to her work as an actress, “there is a magical moment when I can feel that face on my paper breathe and come to life. I love discovering the emotion just beneath the surface. While focusing mostly on the divine feminine, my work is a joyful celebration of our truly magical connection to the natural world, which I hope is contagious.”

Kelly loves creating mixed media pieces, because all of life is collage. “The bits and pieces of paper coming together from various sources to create a new and cohesive image on the canvas, each image taking on new meaning when it is placed next to another. It’s the perfect metaphor for everything we do.”
