Saddle Hunting Ep: 11 | OOAL Slick Rick One-Stick | Pt:1 – First look and Comparison

I have been using the Ultimate One Stick with the Ultimate Platform since last season. This year I added the Ultimate Lower Step and have used it all season. Until now I believe that this was the best stick on the market. And if packability isn’t an issue to you, it still may be.

When it comes to mobile hunting gear, it is an ever-evolving world. The saying “The next best thing” has never been more relevant.
Out On A Limb Mfg. had recently released a stick with a folding top platform called The Big BOB. I was intrigued by the added packability potential, but it wasn’t quite enough for me to pull the trigger. The large lower step, much like the Ultimate Lower Step, was still big enough to be “in the way” when on a backpack.

Lo and behold, 1/3/23 they announced the release of The Big BOB’s big brother, The Slick Rick!!! The big difference was that the lower step ALSO folded, allowing the whole stick to fold flat. Just what I was looking for! And I was able to order it just minutes after its release.

In this video I will give my first impressions of the Slick Rick, go over all of it features, and compare it to its preceding champion, The Ultimate One stick with UP and ULS! Now don’t get me wrong here, the Ultimate One Stick set up like mine is a still its biggest contender, and honestly they are both just in a league of their own. Different designs, different delivery, SAME RESULT!!
When I get it fully set up, get a few climbs in, and get the kinks worked out I will do a full review and DEMO!! So, stay tuned for Part 2!
