Brian August begins his 19th year as head coach of the Wildcats in 2023. A graduate of the University of Delaware, where he was a standout baseball player, August was the assistant baseball coach, assistant athletic director, and building and grounds supervisor at Cecil County Community College prior to coming to Wilmington University.

He is currently 522-330-2 in 18 seasons at the helm of the Wildcats. August won his 500th career game on Saturday, March 26, 2022, with a sweep of Caldwell at Wilson Field. As on the NCAA's 2022 Coaches Record Book, he became the 53rd coach to record 500 career wins in NCAA DII.
