A big question on the minds of Sonic fans heading into June 2023 was will there be a sequel of Sonic Mania? As we all know, Sonic Mania 2 did not get announced, and based on this Game Informer article, we find out that Sonic Mania 2 was never in development, however, talks with Christian Whitehead and SEGA indicate that several parts of development based on plans to make Sonic Mania 2 made their way to Sonic Superstars.
