At one point every photographer comes across the little graph that appears on the back of the camera, or in Lightroom/Photoshop, and wondered, "how do I read this thing?" Well, wonder no more! Check out this Quick Tip video and learn how to read the histogram. It's actually quite simple, but with this knowledge you'll be sure of you exposure no matter what you are photographing.

This knowledge is especially useful when you are shooting in very bright conditions and due to glare it becomes difficult to review your photos on the camera's rear screen. Just by looking at the photo it can be hard to judge if it's exposed correctly or not. By checking the histogram, you can get an accurate reading every time!
