Ukraine Road Trip Gone Wrong (2023) 🇺🇦

It had been about 2 years since Tanya had seen her dad since her country was invaded, so we decided to cross the border from Poland, rent a car, and drive over to the middle of Ukraine, where her family live.

We stopped off in a few places, wary of the air raids, checking the air raid siren map and telegram channel. We went through many army checkpoints. We heard many air raid sirens. We saw lots of anti-tank spikes. We seen buildings that had been destroyed - just people's houses pretty much, nothing actually relevant to this 'special gimp operation'.

We drove from Lviv, through Ternopil', through Khmelnitskyi, through Vinnytsia and stayed in Monastyryshche in Cherkasy Oblast. Then we collected Tanya's sister and dropped her off in Kyiv. We then headed west to Korostyshiv where Tanya met her friend and fellow Ukrainian vlogger Olya Balytska. Olya took us to Korostyshiv Canyon which was a cool quarry. We then continued on our way to stay with some friends in Zhytomyr. Zhytomyr is close to the Belarus border, and therefore is more prone to attacks. The air raid siren goes off in Zhytomyr every single night, and it did throughout our time there.

When then headed back to Lviv, through Rivne. In Lviv, we were just met by constant air raid sirens, as Lviv is where the sane countries of the world supply Ukraine with the tools they need to defend themselves from the maniac next door.
