This first ever parable begins by sharing a message the transient nature of reality.

Through life, we grow up often caring deeply about our possessions, even becoming very careful to build up that which is ours, and not let go. Yet, once our time here is complete, we pass away and leave it all behind.

In the end, it would seem that the material objects don’t matter so much any longer, and what really counted was the experiences and connections we made; the relationships we have with ourselves, each other, and God. Let us all remember to practice living authentically, beyond just what we physically see and earn.
