Ladyboy: What does it really mean?

The word 'Ladyboy' is fascinating. While this is reviled in the 4% zone by people who have no understanding of that culture, across Asia it is almost universally accepted. It appears to have been coined by US servicemen and translates a host of local terms, like kathoey, guthoey, waria, bakla, bayot, bading, ocama and many more. Quotes are from De Serena Nandra.
