“The leader who is on the verbal offensive in every interaction , interview or encounter is the unwanted participant of any relationship. It is either the narcissist or nihilist nature in a leader which pushes them to play gotcha in every conversation. The attack on personhood, status, class, education, race, beliefs is seldom based on merit or demerit of the actual attribute. Most commonly the one sided verbal sparring is designed only to be a self aggrandizing tool for the insecure leader. This practice is all too common among immature leaders of any age. Their confidence is so bruised, every breathless pause of the other person in the conversation becomes an opening to throw a verbal jab. If you are a leader who has to have the first word into an engagement and the last word out, check your deodorant, you might be the armpit everyone is trying to avoid.” J Loren Norris
