Final Fantasy 7 Remake takes place in the dystopian city of Midgar, where the planet's life force, known as Mako energy, is being harvested by the powerful Shinra Electric Power Company. Players follow the story of Cloud Strife, a former soldier turned mercenary, as he joins an eco-terrorist group known as AVALANCHE.
