Lauren voices concern that this new legislation favours the interests of legacy publishers over emerging news startups, which rely almost entirely on social media and search engines to reach audiences.

Lauren discusses the looming impact of this bill – diminished and poorer news content due to cost implications. She commends the Conservative Party's vocal stance against the Online News Act and hopes for further advocacy against it from both the Conservatives and NDP.
