Kyiv Claims Breakthrough in South, Jeddah Talks Start, Russia “Intercepts US Drone” Over Black Sea

The Ukrainian navy has declared six Russian ports in the Black Sea region as a "war risk" area. The Kremlin has vowed to “retaliate” after Ukraine attacked a Russian tanker near the Kerch Strait, calling it a “terrorist act”. Kyiv claims Ukrainian forces have broken through Russia's first line of defence "in some places" on the southern front line. Russia claims to have “liberated” the settlement of Novoselivske in Kupyansk. Russia says it scrambled an Su-30 fighter jet to “prevent a violation” of its state border by a US Reaper MQ-9 military drone over the Black Sea. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia which is hosting talks on the Ukraine crisis kicked off the meeting in Jeddah.
