Starmer will keep the asylum seeker prison barge.

Starmer's shadow immigration minister Stephen Kinnock says asylum seeker barges will be used by Labour.
Right so, vote Labour to get the Tories out, vote Labour to get change, so say the tired old Starmerite drones, but here’s a thought – if Tory prison barges are now something Labour says they’ll keep, something as depraved, as human rights abusing – and let’s not forget Starmer has a career as a human rights lawyer to look back on here – just what exactly will they change in power, if anything? I mean let’s look at what they are now saying they support here, let’s just reflect on the recent prison barge news of recent weeks. We’ve got the Bibby Stockholm here, costs £6m a day to keep, we had to pay to do it up and refit so as to fit twice as many people as it was designed for on it, it’s only cost effective over the cost of putting people up in hotels to fit that many people on it, it was done up in Falmouth and that took longer than was planned so already it’s costing more than anticipated. When you consider the savings to the public purse for this thing per day over hotels at that £6m price tag is only a measly £5000, it’s obviously already operating at a massive loss to us financially. Now consider further delays as it can’t get health and safety or fire safety sign off because of a lack of evacuation space, and unpermissibly small corridors and doorways, a lack of fire escapes, too few life jackets, the whole project is on the verge of collapse. Currently it is the only barge, so Labour saying they’d have to keep the barges is basically saying, they’d have to keep this one. Two cruise ships intended for the same purpose were set to be moored in Edinburgh and Liverpool, but those cities turned them away, refusing to have them, putting up more opposition on their own than Starmer and Co are. So we have a situation right now that is costing us a stupid amount of money for nothing, a government in dire straits as a result of that – I had to get that pun in, sorry – and now Starmer’s Labour are attaching themselves to that failure by supporting it, by saying we’d keep it. I mean political stupidity has been a defining Keir Starmer trait, he really has no idea what he is doing, save whatever his Blairite handlers are telling him. Effectively what Labour are telling us is that the Tories have been awful for 13 years, but we’ll keep doing what they’re doing, we’ll just be wearing different coloured ties. So who is the patsy Starmer sent out to defend this idiocy, which, let’s face it is only going to appeal to the typical knuckle dragger bemoaning the state of our country as entirely the fault of immigrants and with an IQ lower than the average GB News viewer. Cue spawn of the Welsh Windbag Stephen Kinnock, the shadow minister for immigration. He was interviewed on Sky this morning and straight out of the gates Kinnock was asked would you scrap the Bibby Stockholm? Short answer: No.
