Dr. Bunty Desor on #PJNET.tv 8/7/2023
After living in an abusive home Bunty as a child, Bunty was taken away by the police and put into a children’s home at the age of 7. After spending 5 years in and out of these homes, Bunty started drinking alcohol and using drugs and was first arrested when he was 12 years old. When he turned 15 years old he would serve three juvenile prison sentences in SC for many years and was later placed into an alcohol and drug rehab as a teenager. Then from the ages of 17 to 20 Bunty Desor was arrested by the police 29 different times for 49 various offenses. When he was 20 years old he was sent to the South Carolina Prison System for 16 years and was not released until he was 29 years old in 2006 for manufacturing cocaine, marijuana and other illegal substances and drug charges.
Bunty, a former Muslim, while in prison surrendered his heart and life to the LORD Jesus Christ and began studying about the life of Jesus and began reading the Bible every day. While he was there he completed Bible College in prison and was conferred a Doctorate Degree in Sacred Theology from Amherst Theological Seminary, in Madison Heights, Virgina. Six months after Dr. Desor was released from prison in 2006 he was privileged to meet and later marry the love of his life, Christy Wyatt. In the same year the LORD led him to implement an aggressive inner-city outreach ministry Called the New Life Deliverance Worship Center in Spartanburg, SC to help others come out of darkness into God’s marvelous light. This is now a thriving church in a former movie theater with multiple services weekly in Spanish and English. The ministry currently has several homes for men coming out of prison and an upscale resale store called, Classy’s in Spartanburg, SC.
In 2015 this ministry New Life Deliverance has now become an international one and has now planted over 50 Bible schools in various languages and many churches all around the world in places such as Uganda, Rwanda, Malawi in Africa, India, Thailand, Pakistan, United Kingdom, United States, Ukraine, South America, Jamaica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, and many other places. Many of these Bible schools are in some of the toughest prisons in the world.
In 2018, the State of South Carolina granted Dr. Bunty Desor a full pardon and now it is as if he has never committed any crimes in His life because of the love and grace of God.
Pastor Bunty lives happily with his wife in Boiling Springs, South Carolina. They both love spending time with their family and serving God and others. Dr. Desor’s concentration outside of God and family over the past two years has been mainly on raising up other pastors and leaders here and across the world.
