Are essential oils OK for Christians?

There’s nothing wrong with a clove, God made the clove, it’s what you do with it that can be wrong. Even if you use it in a harmless way, but the way you think about it is harmful while you’re using it, and you’re still using it wrong. The apostle Paul talked about how it’s not wrong to eat meat, but if the meat was sacrifice to an idol, and your mindset is coming from that paganism, then it would be bad to eat that meat… Which was ALL the meat in the meat market in Greece in Bible times. So until the Lord deeply deprograms your mind from worldliness and paganism, it’s better to avoid some thing that may seem physically harmless, if it has a spiritually harmful effect.
