Dr. Wallach spoke mainly about metabolic syndrome, the grouping or clustering of three conditions that contribute to cardiovascular disease: high blood pressure (annual cost $131 billion), obesity ($40,873), and type 2 diabetes ($342 billion). These costs are per person and cover only treating the symptoms! Dr. Wallach also addressed that plants do not make minerals, they can only utilize minerals from our soil to make amino acids, vitamins and essential fatty acids. Dr. Wallach also discussed Epigenetics, pica, the need for salt in your diet and the need to eat good foods.
