- Throat and forearm framing involve the thumbs going across the neck and lifting; a motivation to stand them up so they cannot see what’s happening in right hand.

Drawing a Firearm from Retention: Key Safety Tips
- When drawing a firearm from a retention position, ensure it is done in a strong position and that pressure is applied to the head.
- Maintain 45 degree angle when pushing on face or neck for best control over subject.
- Arm should be extended past 90 degrees so subject cannot collapse directly into arm.
- Do not point the muzzle towards the subject instead make sure they are standing in front of it for safety reasons.
- Practice constantly to become familiar with draw without being off balance or losing grip of firearm during situation.
