The Tripod Push Up (using the index, middle, and ring fingers) strengthens your hand and wrist muscles and the index, middle, and ring fingers. This push up can help prevent your fingers, wrists, and hands from being easily injured while practicing marital arts, boxing, and etc. The stronger, tougher your index, middle, and ring fingers are, especially the tips of them, the stronger, harder your spear hand strike will be; that is if the martial art you are practicing uses the spear hand strike.
