An Independent Ukraine

For nearly a decade, we've been interviewing and interacting with refugees from the eastern part of Ukraine. It's clear that the people in this region didn't want to leave Ukraine. In 1991, over 80% of the people in this region voted to secede from the Soviet Union. Even independent polling immediately before the Maidan Revolution in 2014 showed that the majority of people in this region were pro-Ukraine and wanted to remain part of Ukraine.
