Final Fantasy XVI # 7 : All That Glitters is Gone

Four crystals shattered, only one remains.

Protogenesis now blights the land, and an ever missed opportunity to explore the untainted lands of Dalmechia's southern sands. In turmoil, our Heros seek to brave into the continent of Ash, and destroy the final Mother Crystal. Many questions still linger, what is Barnabas role in Ultima's plan. What Oedipus complex drives him, to bury his head into his mother's lap. And what praytell, is Ultima's ultimate goal? For what reason does he seek the vessel Mythos.

"Ultima is no mad dog killer, he is after something."

The city of Kanver, beset by the Akoshic and the might of Barnabas Tharmr begs for Clive and the Cursebreaker's aid. But, nothing in this story tends to have a happy ending. Let us pray that the city can make it out by the end of this ordeal.

We may hit a few side quests to make sure nothing is missed after this part of the story advances, but the priority is this stage, and perhaps some adventure into the mysterious land of Ash. So far nothing has been shown of it outside of a brief glimpse of Drake's Spine in one or two trailers. We eagerly anticipate such an opportunity to explore.

The stream timer sadly will have to be a dead concept. A thunderstorm blew out my power yesterday morning, and there is no way the timer will catch back up especially with additional videos between here and there. A fun idea, but it was not meant to be.

We currently stand at around 67% completion according to the PS5, at about 48 hours in. The last session did not advance much of the MSQ, but essential stories such as the end of Lostwing. With any luck this next episode will get us further to the end of the story. Much is still unknown, such as the origin and fate of the Fallen, and the backstory of the tapestry found in Tabor. Perhaps there we will find our answers.
