100 years edition, Crosman 362: The quality and performance of this limited edition inspires artwork
Way back in late February or early March, when I saw Crosman was coming out with a 100 year anniversary limited edition of the Crosman 362, I knew I just had to have one. The thing is I had never even heard of a Crosman 362 at the time. (My air gun buying has been mostly limited to Wal Mart...but that is changing, but I digress). I saw the photographs, and the online brochure, and noted the stock was going to be Turkish Walnut. I know walnut is expensive, and very good wood, but can't really tell you why Turkish Walnut is that special, but I can tell you it looks nice in the photographs. I also like the carbine design, and the fact is was .22 caliber. So I quickly ordered a stock version of the Crosman 362, just to try it out. I figured if Crosman was picking that particular rifle to be a symbol of their 100th year anniversary, it had to be a decent gun. My stock 362 has exceeded my expectations, and I have made three videos of it to date. My most popular video is of it. I wasn't sure if I wanted to pay the $389.00 Crosman was charging for the rifle, but the more I thought about it, the more I decided it would be worth it. Since I'm retired Army, I live on a fixed income. I'm not poor, but it is a little out of my "allowance" budget for me to be spending roughly $400 on an air rifle. So I did some creative financing: I sold a couple of stocks of Norfolk Southern, and used that to buy the rifle. Now that I had ordered it, I had to wait....and wait...and wait. Crosman took awhile to get this thing out. It finally arrived, and I was going to hold off to start a new video in about a week, but the anticipation was too much. So I started videoing, and what you see is what happened. There are times when one should go ahead and just buy that thing you really want. This was one of those times for me, and, so far it has been a lot of fun!
PS: If you want to purchase one of these, I recommend going directly to the Crosman web site. If you are a "new customer" you will get a 10 or 15 percent discount on your first order. Make sure your first order is the 100 year edition of the Crosman 362, and you can save about $20 that way. They did honor that offer.
