When you read words of imminence in the Bible do you immediately assume that since God is eternal that "soon", "quickly", "at hand" and "in a very little while", are irrelevant and can be elasticized to mean hundreds or thousands of years? In other words, for example in Revelation 1:1, "The Revelation (unveiling) of Jesus Christ which God gave Him to show His servants things which MUST take place SHORTLY", did Jesus mean that John's vision was to happen soon?
