Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy puts her Malibu, CA home up for sale and that may just another warning sign her days are numbered. She and her husband, Frank Marshall, purchased this home in 2015, around the time she was renewed as Lucasfilm President by The Walt Disney Company for the first time. Kathleen Kennedy grew up in Northern California and still has residences there. Lucasfilm's corporate offices are also based in San Francisco, CA. Acquiring a Los Angeles area home after the Disney purchase in 2012 was likely a strategic move since Lucasfilm was now tied to Disney and much of the actual production for Lucasfilm projects under Disney are done IN Los Angeles at Disney owned studios. Having a home there for extended stays would make sense.

But now Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall are selling that home (roughly a 40 min drive from Burbank and Disney corporate headquarters) so perhaps this is another warnings sign she's planning her exit.

We've heard that Kennedy will enter contract renegotiations in the next week or two ahead of her current contract's expiration in late September/October of 2024, next year. We've also heard that this negotiation is more of a severance negotiation than potential renewal.

Kathleen Kennedy and Frank Marshall are now in their 70s and retirement would seem imminent at this point, particularly considering the completion and release of Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny (and its box office failure) which is the one big project Kennedy really wanted to complete.
