Feet that are swift in running to evil,

And one who sows discord among brethren. (Proverbs 6:16-19 NKJV)

Government officials are required to uphold the trust of the people they serve by refraining from deception, and outright lies. Lying erodes public confidence, undermines democratic values, and leads to misinformation. Transparency and honesty foster accountability, enabling informed decisions. Upholding truth strengthens the social contract between officials and citizens, ensuring a just and functional society, which we no longer have.
