A False Witness Shall Not Be Unpunished
9th of the Ten Commandments
Text: Exodus 20; Deut. 5, Proverbs 19:5, 9

Objective: that the brethren be not bear false witness, liars

Intro:
Define – Witness, punish, not unpunished
Verses: false witness

Why Should Any Child of God Stop Lying?
1. It Destroys Good and Important Relationship/s – Prov. 6::19
a. Brotherhood, friendship, etc
b. Betrays trust which is important to any relationships
2. It Makes Deceivers out of People – Prov. 12:17
a. Cheater, Fabricator, Trickster
3. It Drives you far from being Faithful – Prov. 14:5
a. Faithfulness is one of major traits the Lord wants us to be and lying will make it a lot more difficult to achieve
4. It is a sure way to Get Punished – Prov. 19:5,9
a. “Not escape”, Perish
5. It blocks and avoid meaningful and productive conversation – Prov. 21:28
6. It can be the most hurtful act anybody can commit- Prov. 25:18

Message/conclusion:

Trust the Lord, be truthful and don’t lie, you don’t need to,
it’s a sure way to get punished
