There Comes a Time - It's Up To You!

There comes a time when dying
emulates reality more than living--
When minutes of today are negated
by eons of yesterday,
when truth is shadowed o’er by lies.

You sit and ponder when the path divided,
why you chose the other side of the road--
when the notes of the guitar played louder
than the tones of the violin,
when sugar in the bowl was laced with bitters.

The reverberating howl of the grim reaper
now lingers eerily in the thick night air--
When quiet is the rustle of angel wings
that silenced wailing echoes,
when truth becomes a dose of come what may.

Then you realized life never really was
everything you wanted or expected--
When the agony of reality is the result
that cuts like a knife,
when expectations are exposed as a dream.

Horrors! Cursed is such a time!
