In 1955 President Eisenhower had a heart attack and began a search to discover the cause of heart disease and heart attacks. Researchers discovered that Roseto, Pennsylvania, a small town on the Eastern side of the state, had a very unique population. It just so happens that the small Italian community that made up the majority of the population of this town had no fatal heart attacks under the age of 55.
