Unveiling the Purpose and Power of Priesthood; Humanity's Role as Priests in God's Grand Plan (Melchizedek)

This teaching explains that God's purpose for humanity is to transform the universe into His image and likeness by progressively absorbing more revelations of Christ and releasing His image into creation. There are two interconnected types of priesthood to accomplish this - holy priesthood for receiving God's image, and royal priesthood for manifesting it. Melchizedek first modeled this eternal priesthood by fashioning himself into the likeness of the Son of God. Every believer is called to catch glimpses of their future self in Christ, then enforce that reality into their present world to usher in God's will "on earth as it is in heaven." This involves intimacy with God to receive His prophetic vision, then living it out through royalty and dominion. The Genesis 1 mandate shows this pattern of humanity absorbing God's image, multiplying it, and ruling over creation with His likeness. This reveals the true purpose and power of priesthood.
