MADELEINE McCANN: "THE FIRST FIVE MINUTES"

The terrible truths about the scene played out in the tapas bar that night

The actions of the McCanns and their friends during those first five minutes indicate they knew little 3 year old Madeleine McCann did not need to be found

Kate McCann ran to the tapas bar to raise the alarm rather than shouting from the balcony, indicating she knew the shutter was not raised and the twins were not in any danger

The McCann's friends then left the table and ran straight to 5a instead of their own apartments, indicating they knew their own children were not in any danger

Diane Webster told police she remained at the table for five minutes after the alarm had been raised in case Madeleine wandered into the tapas area

Visibility through the heavy clear tarpaulin of the tapas bar was very poor at night, which would have hindered her ability to observe all parts of the tapas area from the table

Diane Webster told tapas waiter Jeronimo Salcedas that she was alone at the table because the others had gone to check if a little girl was missing from the apartments

She did not use Madeleine's name or ask if staff could keep an eye out for a little 3 year old blonde girl

Moments after speaking with Diane Webster, Jeronimo saw a man he later knew to be Gerry McCann, running to the children's play area

It is very telling that Gerry McCann did not identify himself to Jeronimo or use Madeleine's name

Jeronimo told police he learned Madeleine's name later from the Ocean club staff organising the searches

It is also very telling that Gerry McCann did give Jeronimo a description of Madeleine or ask for help

Diane Webster left the table when Jeronimo was speaking with Gerry McCann

The tapas area is very compact

Diane Webster did not ask Gerry McCann if Madeleine had been found or leave a description of Madeleine with the staff

According to Diane's 2nd statement, she left the table because none of the group had returned to the tapas area

Tapas waiter Ricardo Oliveira was alerted to movements in the perimeter of the tapas area while Diane Webster was still at the table

He saw David Payne and Matt Oldfield looking in the garden areas near the bar

They told Ricardo that a girl was missing but did not use Madeleine's name, ask for help or offer a description
