Why Are You Shocked When Black People Do Normal Things?

A video of a pilot simply doing her job has gone viral after people were apparently very impressed with the fact that she was not only a pilot, but a black female pilot. Is this something we should really be celebrating, or is it yet another example of the “soft bigotry of low expectations?” Let’s get into it.
