How to Work E-Skip on 2 Meters: The Magic of VHF SSB

E-Skip: This is the term for sporadic E propagation, which is a phenomenon that allows VHF signals to travel long distances beyond the normal line-of-sight range.

2 Meters: This is the amateur radio band that covers frequencies from 144 MHz to 148 MHz in most regions. It is one of the most popular bands for ham radio operators.

VHF: This stands for Very High Frequency, which is a range of radio frequencies from 30 MHz to 300 MHz. VHF signals usually have a limited range due to the curvature of the Earth, but they can be enhanced by various propagation modes such as E-skip.

SSB: This stands for Single Sideband, which is a modulation mode that uses less bandwidth and power than FM (Frequency Modulation). SSB is more efficient and effective than FM for weak signal communication on VHF bands.
