The Florida Keys: The Florida Keys is a scenic 110-mile Overseas Highway of ocean views, 42 bridges, natural wonders and history like no other place. Each region of the Keys has its own unique character, worlds away from big cities and theme parks. Humans have enjoyed the beauty and bounty of the Florida Keys for thousands of years. The Calusa and Tequesta Native Americans hunted and harvested abundant marine resources long before Europeans arrived.

John Pennekamp Reef State Park Visitor Center and Aquarium: At John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo, visitors can learn about the Coral Reef Ecosystem. Throughout the year, there are many environmental programs offered to park visitors on a wide range of natural and cultural history subject in the Florida Keys. Guided nature walks along the Mangrove and Wild Tamarind trails in Key Largo are offered seasonally or upon request by individuals and organized groups.

The Florida Keys Visitor Center and Aquarium features a 30,000 gallon saltwater aquarium and other natural history exhibits interpreting the park's unique marine environment. There is also a theater where visitors may watch nature videos. Hours are from 9am to 5pm daily.
