Pregnant Stray Cat Cassidy Arrives At Foster Home

We finally caught our pregnant stray cat Cassidy. It took a few attempts. And she wasn't thrilled about her new arrangements at first. But as a young, pregnant stray who is friendly to humans, she doesn't need to be out in the streets. Fun fact, we caught her just as a 3 day long thunderstorm broke out. Very much like how we found Clarence. It rained for days once the drizzle started as I desperately tried to trap her.

After trapping her, I made sure to make the transition as quick and painless as possible. Our foster mom was on call, and received a text as soon as the trap locked her in. I had her at the foster within 25 mins of the time of trapping. Cassidy wasn't thrilled at first, but she adjusted quickly. The thunder and lightning intensified as I drove, proving that we were very close to screwing up the opportunity. The planets were in alignment and we pulled it off.

Not only can her kittens now be saved and socialized...but there's also hope for the momma, which is EXTREMELY rare. Had we waited long enough, she would have eventually become feral. In this case, we have managed to completely avoid an explosion of unwanted feral cats in our neighborhood, as well as finding loving homes for all involved.
