So with so many people asking me what to do as their new car delivery has been delayed, this is one possible option (others are subscribing to a car as a short-term fix, hiring a car only when you need one, extending your current lease deal (if you are currently leasing a car of course)....and....errrr......walking). Buying a new car in 2022 is a tricky business.

We're looking at cheap used cars here, all under £3k, that should retain their value well and enable you to sell them quickly with either a small profit or only a minimal financial loss after 6 or 12 months of ownership.

These cars are also very cheap to insure and tax and offer good MPG so may make a very good option for young drivers too!

Hope some of you find this useful, I'm not telling you to go and do it, just a suggestion they may suit a few of you and help you out of a jam and offer a potential solution to new car delays. Is cost free car ownership even possible in the UK in 2022?
