Two Common Objections to the Christian Worldview – Part 2. Excerpts from “The Story of Reality” by Gregory Koukl.

Part 1 of this series addressed the story of Matter-ism and its relation to the Christian worldview. This video will address the second alternative story, what is called Mind-ism.

So, matter-sim is the first competing story. The second alternative is also an ancient one. In this view, Mind is all that exists—a Divine Mind (or, some might say, “Divine Being”). This story starts, “In the beginning, Mind,” and this is where the story ends too, because there is nothing more. When I say “there is nothing more, “I mean that quite literally.

According to this story there is only one, single thing that is real---“God”—and God as Mind exists in a perfect, undivided unity. Here, I don’t mean what the Christian “Story” means by a personal God (that’s why I just used the pronoun “it” to describe it). Rather, I mean a universal Mind permeates everything because it is the only thing. God is in “everything” ---people, animals, nature, the cosmos—simply because he “is” everything.
