Crocodiles in Northern Australia - Are they getting too numerous?

As some of you may have heard, there was a horrible crocodile attack earlier this year in Northern Australia.
The attack occurred in my old stomping ground of Cardwell and involved a local man attacked in his yacht tender while fishing!
I have always been a big proponent of the protection of crocs as I do love seeing them in the wild.
But attacking a man fishing in a boat was not something I’d considered.
