Do you know what your heart is doing while you are exercising? Of course you do, it is working. Now if you knew exactly how your heart was responding to the training stimulus you would be able to adjust your training program to maximum results.
Most of the time we use perceived rate of exertion or time to decide how long our rest and recovery times should be. But by knowing our heart rate we can figure out the perfect rest interval that we need for any given set or activity.
When it comes to HIIT training, knowing your heart rate will in able you to chose the right length of high intensity interval with the correct length of low intensity interval or rest period.
