One of the traditional methods of imposing statism or socialism on a people has been by way of medicine. It’s very easy to disguise a medical program as a humanitarian project . . . Now, the American people, if you put it to them about socialized medicine and gave them a chance to choose, would unhesitatingly vote against it.

AB-1400: California Guaranteed Health Care for All Act, would create the California Guaranteed Health Care for All program, or CalCare. CalCare provides comprehensive universal single-payer health care coverage and a health care cost control system in California.

To pay for this legislation, taxes will be raised on individuals, companies and corporations. You will now pay taxes on property both locally and to Sacramento. If you have stocks in your portfolio, including retirement accounts and college accounts, the value of those stocks will be taxed, even though you did not sell them. You do not need to be a citizen to receive these health care benefits. This is just the start. This is Socialism.
