HEAT WAVE and Possible Severe Thunderstorms Through the Week -Great Lakes Weather

A record-breaking heat dome is surging across the Midwest and will push into the Great Lakes on Wednesday. Widespread heat alerts have been issued across the region with the expectation that they will expand through Thursday. The edge of this heat dome will settle over eastern Michigan on Wednesday, fueling all-hazards severe weather if the capping inversion does not inhibit convection. This threat may spread into regions farther south on Thursday, fueled by high CAPE values within the hot air mass.
