Gov Hochul Declined NYC’s Request to Force State Counties Into Housing ‘Asylum Seekers’

#governorhochul #nycmayor #asylumseekers Mayor Eric Adams requested that Gov. Hochul issue an executive order demanding that counties outside of New York City assists with the influx of asylum seekers overwhelming NYC.
Governor Kathy Hochul  updated and reminded New Yorkers that the housing responsibility legally remains within city limits, and that the state will not force upstate counties to shelter asylum seekers.
#NY counties has argued that there is  ‘no capacity’ for #migrants, with multiple counties issuing emergency orders of emergency banning hotels, motels and other businesses from contracting to house  #asylum seekers.
