Confrontation With The State - Daniel 6

Daniel came into confrontation with the State. When you obey the Lord; when you stay true to Him and it brings you into conflict with the State; you will always be accused of being a scofflaw; of being treasonous; of being unpatriotic and a threat to the State. The truth is however – that we are not scofflaws. We are not treasonous.

We are not unpatriotic or a threat to the State, rather we are a benefit to the State because we expose their lawlessness; make them face the fact that they are not God; remind them that their authority has limits; and give them opportunity to recover themselves. The sermon also looks at Daniel as a magistrate in regard to the doctrine of the lesser magistrates.
