Say so long to traditional grocery carts

Grocery shopping can be a pain with the crowded stores, long lines, and unloading the car after you get home. Soon more shoppers won’t have to worry about waiting in those long lines, with just a loaf of bread. Chains like Tops and Wegmans are slowly introducing online grocery shopping. Wegmans launched “Instacart” in the Washington D.C. area. It allows customers to enter orders online. The store boxes the products and delivers them to the shoppers’ home. The company is expected to bring Instacart to all Wegmans over time. A Nielsen study shows 10 percent of U.S. shoppers dislike grocery shopping. At least 30 percent of shoppers regularly shop online. About 25 percent of them are shopping for groceries online as well. Although ditching the grocery cart is a sign of the time, some shoppers 7 Eyewitness News talked to say letting a random person select their lunch meat and produce is not an option.
