This Is The Victory

1 John 5:4, 5 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
What is it that overcomes the world. Faith. Your faith, which has been nurtured and grown by God through the hearing of His Word. You have been saved by faith and told to walk by faith. You are born again by faith on Jesus Christ. By believing that Jesus is the Son of God.
The world and the devil are your enemies. The world provides many enticing lures seeking to draw you away from Jesus Christ. The world will seek to appeal to your flesh and to your pride. Feeling and emotions rule in the world, and feelings and emotions are not bad things, but they must NOT be what determines your direction in life. You and I are in a daily battle with the world and the flesh, but it is a battle that you must rely on Jesus Christ to fight. You cannot get the victory by trusting in yourself to fight. Why not? Because you are weak. And the world is strong. The flesh is strong. But Jesus Christ is stronger.
